Abstract

Various indicators can be used to monitor development progress in a region, both economic and social indicators. In the context of society as the object of development, an indicator is needed to measure the development of life or the level of welfare of the community itself. If you want to see the level of welfare from an economic perspective in a general sense, GRDP is more appropriate to use. If you want to see a picture of social welfare in a narrower sense, IMH (Quality of Life Index) is more appropriate to use, because the IMH indicator only considers social variables, namely Infant Mortality Rate, Life Expectancy Rate, and Literacy Rate. Meanwhile, if you want to see a picture of the level of social and economic welfare in a broad sense, the HDI (Human Development Index) is most appropriate to use, because it considers social and economic variables. This publication presents data and analysis related to the HDI (Human Development Index) in 2025 so that we can obtain an overview of the position of human development in Langsa City over time across regions.
