Abstract

Various indicators can be used to monitor the progress of development in a region, both economic and social indicators. In the context of society as an object of development, an indicator is needed that measures the development of life or the level of welfare of the community itself. If you want to see the level of welfare in terms of the economy in a general sense, GRDP is more appropriate to use. If you want to see a picture of social welfare in a narrower sense, IMH (Quality of Life Index) is more appropriate to use, because the IMH indicator only considers social variables, namely Infant Mortality Rate, Life Expectancy Rate, and Literacy Rate. Meanwhile, if you want to see a picture of the level of social and economic welfare in a broad sense, the HDI (Human Development Index) is most appropriate to use, because the HDI considers social and economic variables. This publication presents data and analysis related to the HDI (Human Development Index) for the 2024 so that a picture of the position of human development in Langsa Municipality can be obtained from time to time between regions.
